SUCH A GOOD MATCH

i like seeing things matched. it just makes so much sense
found all of these on tumblr

french toast, old film and spoons

these two shots are from our recent adventures on olivia's old film camera, so talented! she definitely has an eye for beauty. the second one is when my little bro made us a giant french toast feast and filled the house with smoke. it made for some beautiful light streaming in for this shot! and may i just say, he cooks the bestest, crispyest french toast ever.

brown clogs are a win

the No. 6 is a vintage collection based in NYC. i love the informality of their photographs and the fact that they look super cute and comfy as. brown clog shoes? YES PLEASE!

101 ways to amuse myself instead of writing essays

ohhkay, so not actually 101 ways. maybe just the one.
i personified our flat. the funniest thing is hearing them from my room as they get found. ha! so amusing. heres some photos.

thought for the day

how hard would it be to trust a God that wasn't perfect and made mistakes.

"it is your job" said He, "to be loved outrageously"

Bold as a lion.

Come boldly into the throne of God's beautiful Grace,
Knowing it is nothing we can do or bring, but what has been bought through Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16 and Hebrews 10:19-22

"He turned to look at me, as he always did when answering a question, but to my surprise he said nothing. At last he stood up, lifted his traveling case off the floor and set it on the floor.
Will you carry it off the train, Corrie?" he said.
I stood up and tugged at it. It was crammed with the watches and spare parts he had purchased that morning.
It's too heavy," I said.
Yes," he said, "and it would be a pretty poor father who would ask his little girl to carry such a load. It's the same way, Corrie, with knowledge. Some knowledge is too heavy for children. When you are older and stronger, you can bear it. For now you must trust me to carry it for you.” ― Corrie ten Boom, The Hiding Place

typographic verses

This last verse really stirs me up. It reminds me of something that was said to me a while ago, -"If the Presence of God was not with us, would we notice?". It makes me so much more intent on seeking out new and fresh encounters with God. No routines or schedules. But being reminded that God wants to show us new things ALL the time, in every little part of our day.
P.s. these designs are from an awesome designer i discovered this week that does typographic bible verses. check him out here

today i saw a real-live pirate and just some casual planes doing flips overhead..

It was for an air parade at the air force base celebrating their 75th anniversary. Such a stunner of a day, and apparently about 70,000 people showed up! No wonder the food lines were so long..

p.s. does anyone know what movie this is from? i am loving the hat. i  found it under 'big fluffy hat' on google. #iwantone

i would love to paint a whole room one day. just like this.

Saturday, 24 March 2012

now THAT is what i call a productive day

Today i tidied the giant mountain of clothes in my room, washed the giant mountain of clothes, cleaned the stack of dishes in the kitchen AND most excitingly mowed our front lawn with the hand mower, -such a mission! I secretly hope the neighbours see me and take pity and offer to throw a real.lawn.mower over the fence.
I also picked some beautiful flowers from our garden for my new clean room. So prettttyyy

joy unspeakable

"..they say that the fairest Alpine flowers bloom in the wildest and most rugged mountain passes... And thus amid manifold trials, souls which love God will find reasons for bounding, leaping joy. Through deep call to deep, yet the Lord's song will be heard in silver cadence through the night. And it is possible in the darkest hour that ever swept a human life to bless the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Have you learned this lesson yet? Not simply to endure God's will, nor only to choose it; but to rejoice in it with joy unspeakable and full of Glory" -Streams in the desert

Saturday, 10 March 2012

today i ate a whole packy of biscuits and wrote 1000 words

1500 words to go! ironic that im doing an essay on low mood. hahaha. i also discovered our peach tree today was full of delicious ripe peaches. i picked it naked. the only problem is when you shake the tree, it rolls down the hill to the end of the driveway at someone else's doorstep. so you have to be quick, and run after each peach before it goes to their house. anyway i think they will be in for a tasty surprise when they next set foot out the door. either that or they will soon find they have a pile of peach squished into their doormat.

And read this piece of gold today.
"Have no fear. Perfect Love casts out all fear. There is no room for fear in the heart in which He dwells. Fear destroys Hope. It cannot exist where Love is, or where Faith is"

i love it when trees grow up the side of buildings. so beautiful

that was the day.
